Comments
When members or visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help prevent spam.
An anonymized string (also known as a hash) created from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to determine if you have a registered profile image. You can view the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site (for example, for your member profile or group discussions), please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors may be able to download and extract this information from uploaded images.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to enhance your experience:
-
Comment cookies: If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. This saves you from re-entering your details when you comment again. These cookies last for one year.
-
Login cookies: When you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is used to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
-
Account cookies: Once you log in, cookies store your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days; screen preference cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove these cookies.
-
Editing cookies: If you edit or publish content (for example, a listing or post), a cookie will be stored to record the post ID of the item you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Some pages may include embedded content such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited those sites directly.
These external sites may collect data about you, use cookies, or include third-party tracking. If you are logged into those sites, your interaction with the embedded content may also be tracked according to their own privacy policies.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the password reset email for security purposes.
Otherwise, your data is not shared, sold, or rented to third parties, except as required for essential site operations (for example, spam detection or secure payment processing).
How Long We Retain Your Data
-
Comments: Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely to recognize and approve future comments automatically.
-
Membership accounts: For registered members, we store the personal information you provide in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your personal details at any time (except for your username). Website administrators can also view and manage this information as needed for account support.
Your Data Rights
If you have a membership account or have left comments on our site, you can request:
-
A copy of the personal data we hold about you, and
-
That we delete your personal data.
This does not include data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments and submissions may be checked through an automated spam detection system to ensure the security and integrity of our community.
